Story

PeopleFoundry Inc. is a progressive recruiting consultancy based in Chicago. PeopleFoundry was established in 2013 by CEO, Michelle Joseph, to remedy a pervasive misalignment between companies' talent needs and the ability of existing recruiting firms to meet those needs.

We have a fresh approach. Our model and process promotes companies' strategic growth in a cost contained way. As a result, PeopleFoundry is uniquely suited to help companies navigate high growth periods, which has made our team a particularly valuable ally for start-ups in the tech and digital space.

Michelle Joseph is the Founder and CEO of PeopleFoundry Inc. She has developed a unique and successful recruitment model to identify and build talent in technology and digital organizations experiencing high-growth periods. As CEO, Michelle is responsible for the strategic development and growth of PeopleFoundry, operational planning, and for the continuous understanding of the national landscape of talent.

Prior to founding PeopleFoundry Inc, Michelle served as the Chief People Officer for a UK based eSourcing business, TradingPartners. There she aligned the management structure to business needs while guiding organizational change, process improvement, and conflict resolution globally. She partnered with the CEO on expansion plans for emerging markets, including Shanghai, Tokyo and across the United States.

Michelle holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Dayton. She received her Master's in Human Resources Management in 2008 from Cornell University while maintaining her full-time senior management role with TradingPartners. Michelle is an active member in the community. She is a mentor at 1871 and at MATTER. She supports the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (formerly Children's Memorial Hospital), serves as a contributor to the Taproot Foundation, and is a member of the Young Executives Club of Chicago and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Kelly Binder is the National Operations Lead at PeopleFoundry. Since joining PeopleFoundry, Kelly has developed some of our most successful accounts. She aligns with each client she touches to understand their needs and culture to form a better partnership. She implements strategies and processes in order to find, evaluate and hire the best talent for our clients. As a result, Kelly has helped scale our fast-growth clients and contributed to taking teams from 11 employees to over 120 in one year while continually launching markets across the country. Kelly has truly played an integral part in building out PeopleFoundry's internal team. She's led the build out of operations, delivery and infrastructure, and contributes to overall strategy and development across all PeopleFoundry locations. Kelly serves as a key advisor for client delivery teams to facilitate effective client relationships and drive internal processes.

Prior to joining PeopleFoundry in 2013, Kelly worked for a healthcare recruitment agency where she supported hospital systems across Chicago in hiring clinical professionals. Additionally, she trained and developed colleagues on recruitment processes and best practices. Kelly graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Communication and Business.

Joanna "Joey" Muehlstein has over 6 years of experience in human resources with 3+ years of technical recruiting. As the Client Services Director with PeopleFoundry, Joey's focus is fostering successful delivery to our partnerships with high growth companies. She assists clients in developing hiring plans, providing trainings, education of market trends, and managing the full recruitment life cycle. Internally, Joey is regularly sought out for her technical expertise in qualifying roles and candidates. Functioning as the Sourcing Lead, Joey leads a team of Sourcing Consultants who analyze trends and build pipelines for our teams.

Before working for PeopleFoundry, Joey was a technical recruiter at a Chicago based boutique staffing firm, where she quickly became successful filling software development roles. Joey has a deep understanding of filling hard-to-find niche skill sets and is comfortable working with candidates and clients alike to educate them on the trends of the market.

Joey holds her BA from Loyola University and is an active member of the McCormick-Pedersen Boys & Girls Club Junior Board. And when not working, she is fixing up her 100+ year old home, hosting friends and trying the newest restaurants in Chicago.

Brian is serial entrepreneur and seasoned investor with 30 years of entrepreneurial and venture capital experience. He is co-owner and chief financial officer of Skolnik Industries, a Chicago-based manufacturer of industrial packaging. He is also co-founder of FireStarter Fund (started in 2012), an early stage venture fund focused on Web/social/mobile investments. He was co-founder and CEO of Timelines (2007), a company that allows users to record and share events through multiple Web properties and an iPhone app. Prior to Timelines, Brian was founder and CEO of ShopLocal (1999), which helps advertisers use the Web to promote local, in-store sales and deals. ShopLocal is the leader in multi-channel marketing and advertising services, and provides innovative media solutions to nearly all major US retailers, including Target, Sears, Best Buy, CVS and Home Depot. ShopLocal was acquired by Gannett.

Brian is an investor in numerous early stage companies, including AVIA, Cartavi (acquired by DocuSign), Food Genius, Future Simple, Journatic (formerly Blockshopper), Kapow Events, Pangea Payments, Pear (formerly Apparel Media Group), Perfect Audience (acquired by Marin Software), Popular Pays, Retrofit, Sittercity and YCharts, as well as being an investor in and mentor for tech incubator Techstars Chicago.

From 1983 to 1999, Brian worked in the venture capital and investment banking industry with First Analysis Corporation. As vice chairman of the firm for the last three years, he was responsible for co-managing day-to-day activities of the company's investment research, investment banking and venture capital activities. He was also responsible for identifying, investing in and managing portfolio companies as part of the firm's $500 million family of venture capital funds.

Brian received his BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Andee Harris brings more than 20 years of experience to her role as Chief Engagement Officer of HighGround. In this role, she has proven to be a true leader, guiding the company in thought leadership, market share growth, new business development, multi-channel marketing strategies and revenue management. Andee develops key strategic client relationships that move the business forward, and also evangelizes engagement and performance best practices by representing HighGround publically. Most recently, served as the vice president of marketing and alliances for The Marcus Buckingham Company. Before that she led sales and marketing for Syndio, a people analytics software company. She provided strategic direction and day-to- day operations for the sales and marketing team. Andee was also the driving force behind Syndio’s rebranding and positioning from communications and academic research to a people analytics company. Her experience in technology and business makes her well-suited to her role. Andee was a founding partner at software services firm Emerging Solutions, which grew to more than 150 employees before it was sold to Emtec for about $30 million. While there she served as an equity partner and Head of the Human Capital Management practice for Emerging Solutions, where she focused on the evaluation and implementation of Peoplesoft, Workday and SuccessFactors for Fortune 500 to midsize companies. This background has been critical is helping HighGround develop its strategies for employee engagement and truly create a differentiated technology platform. Andee has already been recognized locally for her achievements. In 2015, Andee was named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ Tech 50 as one of the city’s most successful female technology entrepreneurs. Andee was recently nominated to be the on the Executive Board of Lumity, Lumity provides teens and young adults in underserved communities with transformational experiences to prepare them for lifelong STEM careers. Her STEM Talk titled, “Why High School Girls Should get Involved in Technology.” Impacted over 1000 CPS students in 2016. She is passionate about helping young girls achieve their dreams through mentoring them on real world projects. Andee also appeared on CBS, on a segment called, “Chicago Women You Should Know.” Andee believes in strong community service and the ultimate responsibility of a business is to give back to the community. She is also a board member of Chicago Ideas Week. and the youngest member of the Lurie Children’s Hospital board. She lives in Chicago with her husband, 2 kids and her black lab!
